- Scalp Micropigmentation
Scalp Micropigmentation is a cosmetic hair loss treatment which involves the use of natural pigments to create the appearance of real hair follicles. This non-surgical, artistic procedure is suitable for all skin types, ages and stages of hair loss.
Scalp Micropigmentation (also known as SMP) can be used to create a variety of natural hairlines, the appearance of a short-shaved hairstyle or to produce the appearance of denser, thicker looking hair, cover areas of hair loss and also scarring.
This non-surgical treatment is perfect for creating natural looking hairlines, making male pattern hair loss or scalp scars a thing of the past, female pattern hair loss can be treated to give clients their confidence back.
How is this treatment performed?
Scalp Micropigmentation takes place using a specialist microneedle which penetrates the epidermal layer of skin. Treatments will take place over a number of sessions depending on each client and the amount of hair loss, each session will last 3-4 hours. We recommend two weeks between each appointment.

Does scalp micropigmentation hurt?
This non-invasive treatment is virtually pain free, some clients describe a mild discomfort during the treatment however breaks can be carried out throughout the service.
Do you charge for consultations?
No, we do not charge for consultations and are happy to discuss SMP with anyone considering this treatment.
Is it semi-permanent? Will it fade over time?
This is a permanent treatment often referred to as a scalp tattoo. Some initial softening may be experienced however SMP is a permanent treatment and providing clients follow correct aftercare advice then your treatment will be well maintained. After 4-6 years clients may experience some fading and wish to top their treatment back up.
What if I have SMP and then suffer more hair loss?
Depending on the type of hair loss the individual is suffering with it may be possible that some clients experience further hair loss. In these cases, clients may return and have further scalp micropigmentation in these areas.
Can my treatment turn blue or green?
No, we use specialist inks produced for high quality scalp micropigmentation which will not produce any unwanted tones.
Do I need to take time off work?
This non-invasive treatment will not require you to take time off work, you may experience some redness to the scalp after treatment however this will settle down over 24-48 hours.
Can scalp micropigmentation camouflage my hair transplant scar?
Yes, scalp micropigmentation can be performed on scar tissue to provide the appearance of hair follicles providing excellent camouflage results.
Can I still use treatments such as Regaine or Propecia?
Propecia can be continued throughout your treatment however topical treatments such as Minoxidil we recommend not using until the scalp has fully healed post treatment.
